Glossary
The following are explanations for words, phrases or abbreviations as they are used in the context of this website.
- Apportioned
- Where a service is contracted to be available across a region, the funding shown is divided up in relation to the Census population of that region.
- Census population
- Data collected about the population of New Zealand by Statistics New Zealand every five years.
- Client focus
- A general description of the people who will use the service.
- Contract target
- The area where the provider has been contracted to provide their services.
- Contract total
- The total amount of a contract with a service delivery area that includes the area unit selected.
- Contract volume
- The number of clients or types of service the provider has been contracted to provide in a financial year.
- CPCS
- Crime Prevention and Community Safety
- CRO
- Community Relations and Operations
- CYF
- Child, Youth and Family – a service of the Ministry of Social Development.
- Description (in provider box)
- Information on the service provided.
- DHB
- District Health Board
- DOE
- Departmental operating expenditure - the money a government agency spends on day to day operation and provision of services.
- DVA
- Domestic Violence Act
- FACS
- Family and Community Services – a service of the Ministry of Social Development.
- FC
- Family Court
- FCC
- Family Court Counselling
- Financial year
- The financial year runs from 1 July to 30 June in the next year. The year end number is shown to represent the financial year. For example the year 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2011 is shown as the financial year 2011.
- Funder
- The government agency that is providing the funding.
- MOE
- Ministry of Education
- MOH
- Ministry of Health
- MOJ
- Ministry of Justice
- MSD
- Ministry of Social Development.
- MYD
- Ministry of Youth Development – administered by the Ministry of Social Development.
- Non DOE
- Non departmental operating expenditure - funding to be passed on from a government agency to other people or organisations to provide services.
- Per capita
- The funded amount divided by the number of people usually resident in an area, according to Census population data.
- Provider
- An organisation that provides services on behalf of a government organisation.
- PTS
- Parenting Through Separation
- QuickStats
- A link to Statistics New Zealand website giving information about New Zealanders and a range of details about their lives, including their families and households, housing, education and incomes.
- RJ
- Restorative Justice
- Sensitive – withheld
- Information will be shown as 'sensitive – withheld' if the provider is delivering sensitive services, or if displaying the information would compromise the safety of the people who use the service.
- Service provider
- An organisation that provides services on behalf of a government organisation.
- Service type
- A general description of the type of service provided.
- Social need (in provider box)
- The need within a community that the service is aiming to meet.
- Territorial Authority
- The district or city council in an area.
- VS
- Victim Support
- WI or W&I
- Work and Income – a service of the Ministry of Social Development.
